Understanding, practicing, and owning the proper mindset will give an athlete the best chance for optimal experience, development, and success.
A MindRite Athlete:

Is passionate about their sport. More passion leads to greater enjoyment. Greater enjoyment leads to the desire to work hard. The desire to work hard leads to optimal development and success.

Is confident in their abilities. An athlete that is driven by personal development and growth will always compete with confidence. They realize that their development and success are based on controllable factors like great effort and focusing on the process. An athlete that carries the right mindset, and competes with confidence, will have the greatest chance of ongoing development and success.

Practices and competes with a present minded focus. Athletes with the proper mindset are able to put aside potential distractions, allowing them to compete to the best of their abilities.

Overcomes adversity. At some point every athlete faces adversity. How they respond to adversity is key to ongoing development and success.
Owning the proper mindset is a three step process for an athlete:

An athlete must first understand the mental characteristics necessary for achieving a mindset that will allow for optimal experience, development, and success. Understanding the proper mindset is the foundation for consistent athletic growth and development.

PRACTICE
An athlete must practice techniques that allow them to continuously use and develop the right mindset. The highs and lows associated with sport can challenge an athletes mental fortitude. Mindset practice techniques must be implemented if the athlete wishes to acquire a mindset that will allow for optimal experience, development, and success.

OWN
An athlete must own the proper sport mindset. In the heat of competition an athlete must be able to rely on a mindset that will allow them to focus on the right things at the right time. The proper mindset puts and athlete in control of his or her thoughts, which in turn gives them the best chance for optimal experience, development, and success.
